Dear Jacqueline, thank you so much for the fabulous week of intense yoga training at your wonderful „Garden of Joy“! I experienced the place as very peaceful where you receive the most positive charge of energy - and as a Feng Shui expert I know what I am talking about.
Coming to the island for 20 years now and practicing yoga for 8 years, I met wonderful teachers along my yoga journey. But, with none I had the feeling of really getting deep into the yoga philosophy and gaining valuable insights about the yoga techniques at the same time.
Your teaching however met this need of mine. Each of us was supported so well according to his or her level. With your deep knowledge of different styles of yoga (like ashtanga, hatha or jivamukti) as well as pranayama techniques, ayurveda and qi gong, I learned so much and got so many precious ideas for my practice in class but also at home.
Physically and mentally strong I left the island and will be back at the Garden of Joy next year! Love from Sabine!

I just finished Teacher Training with Jacqueline Purnell in Ibiza. Already, I'm signed up for further training, coming back in two months for the Pre- and Postnatal Yoga course.
Why I chose Jacqueline? Having met her at a yoga retreat before, I already knew her as very knowledgeable, but also down to earth. Looking for a teacher to provide a thorough and grounded training, I was not disappointed.
While training was intense, it was also a lot of fun. Jacqueline put special emphasis on our understanding the physiology of yoga, applying various teaching methods to cater to every type of learner. We all gathered extensive teaching practice during the three weeks. From the beginning on, we exercised applying the correct modifications for various physical conditions and assuring all levels had a safe and pleasant experience.
Jacqueline provided a life changing experience in a breathtaking location. Through her as well as her assistant Lynn Ramsson's support I feel not only excited to start my career as a yoga teacher, but well prepared - with an intense hunger for more!

Testimonial for The Wheel Backbend Teacher Training Workshop (CPD)
A stimulating workshop will rouse teachers from lesson planning lethargy and return them into the fray with renewed energy and enthusiasm, and this is precisely what Jacqueline Purnell provided in her Day session on The Wheel or Urdhva Danurasana.
Jacqueline explored the key muscles that may aid or inhibit this advanced backbend and got us thinking about sequencing a class that would prepare students for The Wheel (and beyond to more advanced variations). An exciting mix of anatomy, discussion and stimulating ‘double espresso’ backbends meant everyone came away with new angles on an ancient pose (and the need for chamomile tea).

"Jacqueline was exceptional and explaining and directing things I had been doing incorrectly for some time. I feel like I have advanced a great deal in only 5 days and am enthused to make a great change on my return home- I really would recommend this to everyone!"

The awesome sweet location where I started after two years no training due to Disc Hernia troubles was a hearth warming welcome back to yoga.
As a bootcamper I joined the teacher training programme and with focus, concentration and beautiful build up I was within three days getting
more and more back in my body. The sweet and strong guidance was uplifting and did bring a feeling of wanting more.
More understanding and more training....hope to be back soon...
Lots of love

With Yoga Shala Ibiza I have booked yoga holiday!
I had a lovely accommodation run by a nice spanish family.
The yoga area was good reachable with a walk of 15 min from the appartments. The Garden of Joy is a lovely place to practice yoga & in the middle of a nice garden.
For breakfast we had a lovely small buffet with cold/warm tasty food.
At the time I was there, there was teachers training.
.... I have realy enjoyed my stay with Yoga Shala & would come again!
Best regards

It is now 3 years since I completed my 3 weeks intensive yoga teacher training at Yogashala Ibiza, and I am so happy to be returning this year to help out and to learn some more. The course was one of the most challenging but also rewarding and transformational few weeks of my life. I gained so much knowledge and confidence. I had undertaken the course mainly for my own learning, and to have the confidence to develop my own personal practice at home.  But I left there feeling humbled by the the knowledge I had gained and really wanting to share it, and so I did start teaching. Now I realise how much I have learnt from teaching, and how much I enjoy it.
Thank you Jacqueline for all your care and advice and for asking me to come back. I am so excited to be a part of this course and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding and practice of yoga.

I’m home and sitting at my desk once again, surrounded by my once beloved technology and yet I’m lamenting for the simple life. Thanks to a process I started in September, my life is now forever changed.
My inability to get out of bed in the morning has been replaced by an early start, self-practice and a healthy breakfast to set me up for the day ahead. I’m stronger and healthier than ever and the grey cloud that used to follow me about has been exchanged for a new mental clarity. Although, one thing’s for sure I will never give up my morning coffee…some habits are too enjoyable to kick.
In my adult life I have struggled to find the time to study despite my best intentions. Therefore I decided that the teacher training course in Ibiza would be a perfect emersion, away from the distractions of every day life and a chance to recharge and refocus.
I had heard about Jacqueline from fellow teachers and after researching online and spending a few minutes on the phone I knew Ibiza the place for me.
Her teaching style is open, approachable and she is supremely knowledgeable. Founded on years of experience across many styles of Yoga and from many teachers from the Great Pattabhi Jois to the liberated souls of David Life and Sharon Gannon!
When I think of Ibiza I have an inner smile and warmth at the great memories and experience I had. I met some amazing people and made some friends for life.
In Ibiza my mornings were filled with the sound of the waves lapping the beach, tranquil meditations overlooking the mountain and morning practices awaiting the arrival of the warm sunrise.
I developed a great affinity for The Garden of Joy; it’s a unique space that has been hand carved by Jacqueline and her family and they have put all of their Bhakti into it. If you are looking for a retreat, somewhere to further your practice or take your yoga journey to next level then Jacqueline’s Yoga Teacher Training is the one for you.
Its not all great landscapes and food, it is challenging both mentally and physically. Be prepared to focus internally, learn more about yourself and go on a journey of self-exploration. This is about learning and self-development and graduating is one of my biggest achievements to date.

Having just arrived home from a 200 hour teacher training course with Jacqueline I feel completely renewed and energised. Instead of lamenting at the London weather, I find myself now walking with a smile on my face and yoga mat on my shoulder as I continue on the path I started paving in Ibiza.  Studying to become a yoga teacher has been one of the more difficult things that I have done in my life (and I thought I was tough after 10 years in the City!), as it’s physically and mentally demanding, but the sense of accomplishment and personal growth I gained as a result of graduating to become a yoga teacher has made it very worthwhile.
Jacqueline is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable yoga practitioners I have come across, and I feel really fortunate to have had her share her knowledge and passion with us on the course. She also understood that all the students came from different walks of life and had differing depths of yoga practice thus far, making everyone feel included and important. We were also given the opportunity to spend significant time teaching full 90 minute yoga classes to external students – a great confidence booster!
While my newfound Ibiza tan will unfortunately fade, I think that the internal glow this course has given me will last.

Ibiza, the perfect location for yoga! I am a recent graduate of the 3 week intensive yoga teacher training course. Well, where do I start?
The food was flawless, totally vegetarian, full of flavour, excellent quality and large portions, thanks Sol (Chef extraordinaire!).
The intensity of the course, in the heat of Ibiza was very challenging physically but achievable with the right attitude and effort, and almost addictive once one was familiar with the routine of 06.30am starts! During the 3 weeks of training, I felt my body and mind had woken up to reality after a long, long sleep!
How often does one have the opportunity to experience this and open ones heart to the feeling of peace and serenity? No distractions, no chit chat to fuel the mind with irrelevant scenarios and negativity; just oneself. Being in the now is sufficient. Talking is overrated anyway! The creativity that was evident in all of the student's demonstrations. They were so inspiring and so memorable. The bonding between all the students was unexpected but I felt boosted the groups dynamics from the very beginning of the course, so as by the end, we were friends who had the spirit of yoga as a common denominator. The course tutors opened our minds to the human potential in all of us.
I thoroughly recommend the course, tough as it was at times, but so worth every second of effort. I am a different person now. More confident, grounded, content, knowledgeable, skilful (Oh, and modest!). If you can dedicate this time to the course, you will be overwhelmed at what can be achieved, with the guidance of Jacqueline,( a truly beautiful soul who surely has enthusiasm, inspiration, wisdom and knowledge on yoga well beyond her years) in the beautiful, magical location of Ibiza.
Do it! In life, opportunities will present themselves, it is up to us to seize them!
Jonathan Mc Loughlin (Ibiza July '09 graduate)

Jacqueline provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in one activity of Yoga across a period of 3 weeks. This, together with the in-depth knowledge that Jacqueline has of her subject, an amazing location, superb food and prearranged accommodation adds up to a period where one can focus totally on the one subject – a luxury in its own right!
If you have the passion for yoga and want to know more – indeed be qualified to teach it - then I cannot think of a better way of achieving your goal. Added to this, Jacqueline’s positivity always shines through, creating a path of joy and hope. This is a very inspiring memory and inspiration for one’s future.
Thank you, Jacqueline

"My experience of doing the Ibiza Yoga TCC was an enlightening, uplifting and challenging experience. Jacqueline was an inspiring and insightful Teacher who encourages students to reach their potential in all the different aspects of yoga, acquire sound, safe teaching skills and develop their own practice and technique.
The Yoga Centre is a lovely, uplifting, spiritual and sensual arena - the sounds, the sea, the smells - fabulous. The food was fantastic too. Gourmet, delicious and wholesome! All this and the delights of a beautiful, magical Island."
Jacqui Ives

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and really pleased to have had this experience and feel honored to have met all the people involved. I loved the morning walks, the meditation and that we started teaching by day 2! It really built up my confidence and sense of grounding and security in teaching.”
Lisa Mortimer, Yorkshire.

“The teacher’s instructions were always very easy to understand, clear & precise. She has a lot of knowledge and I felt free to ask questions at any time. In all, I’ve learnt so much about yoga and I feel very ready to teach thanks to this training. I am very pleased with what this course has given me”.
Sylvia, Norway.

“Although feedback was straight to the point I felt valued and respected and was encouraged to develop my learning at all times. Positive feedback was given as soon as I earned it and I really appreciated this. I now feel fully motivated and able to focus on developing the knowledge I have gained on this course”.
Monique, Spain.

Many greetings from my first 500-hours-teacher-training-course. Here, I realize that with the Yogashala TTC 2012 I am well educated - and qualified for the advanced study period. I feel well informed about asanas, anatomy, philosophy and didactics. And, what differentiates me from the others, is that I have the self-confidence and security to teach groups. Because at the Yogashala we started teaching nearly from the first day on.
Before the TCC on Ibiza this would have been unthinkable to me. The TCC transformed me. It made me stronger, more secure, trustful and more vital. Why? Because within these three weeks I had to cope with many challenges - both physical and psychological - and so could discover myself. And I was supported by so many beings: A funny and loving group (Thanks, you wonderful people!). Expert teachers that I was allowed to learn of. (Thanks, Jacqueline, Arlette, Chris and Seba. Delicious meals (Thanks, Sol and Olli!). The magic of the island (Thanks, Ibiza!). And myself, my courage, my confidence, the support by my loved ones and my own way. (Thanks, Jette!). The transformation goes on.
